After deciding that hiking 4 miles (uphill!) through 2 feet of snow was not a fun idea, we went to Golden Gate Canyon State Park for some weekend camping, which turned out to be excellent
We had a really good time, check out our bear bag!

(it’s that blue thing hanging in the tree.)
We also saw a herd of elk in the park, on our way to the trail head

The backcountry sites at this park are really nice, they’re far apart, and well maintained, you can see how there’s a nice framed-in flat spot on which to pitch the tent….

We also hiked up to see one of the shelters that you can camp in that don’t require a tent, they’re very nice, and i think that next time we go to this park we’ll stay in one

Last, but not least, here’s a picture of Boulder Creek that runs along the road to our original destination….

Well, thats our weekend! Stay tuned for pictures of Amy’s IV line from her ER visit on Monday night…excitement!!
P.S. Just realized its been exactly a year since our last post….that’s pretty sad….we’ll try to do better!
